From Chef Gary Lang...

 

We are excited to be a part of the new 'restaurant row' on the Carteret Street corridor. We are across the street from Wren, and just 50 feet from the intersection of Bay Street and Carteret at the bridge downtown.  The new Breakwater is almost double the size of the old one and has both a contemporary restaurant and a kitchen store section. Plus we were able to expand our menu with a greater commitment to 'locally grown'.

Exactly, we are 100% committed to getting the absolutely freshest caught local seafood and locally grown vegetables. Not only are you supporting the local economy, you are helping good people (the farmers and the fishermen) who we know personally.

This is a great chance for Gary and Beth  to finally show what they can do as cooks.  At the old Breakwater, people loved all the tapas that he and Beth created. So much so, that there was not room for them to make new dishes.  The new format will allow specials and keep the creativity going.
